When you think of the fashion capitals of the world, New York City, Los Angeles, Paris, London, and Milan may be the first places that come to mind.

However, Panama is also a hotspot for all things high fashion. While names like Federico Visuetti are staples in the Panamanian clothing industry, Lidia Minota has also made a name for herself with her self-titled womenswear brand.

Lidia Minota was born in Bogota, Colombia and graduated from the Graduate School of Design in Bogota. While there she studied the techniques of design and manufacturing, which helped her to create her clothing line. In 2012, she debuted her Lidia Minota clothing collection during Mercedes Benz Fashion Week Panama.

Minota’s garments are known for their feminine silhouette and romantic feel. Because they highlight the beauty of a woman, her garments have become a favorite with Her most recent collection debuted in the 2015 Mercedes Benz Fashion Week show in Panama. This collection featured two piece skirt and top sets as well as dresses. The color palette mostly involved colors that fall under the cool category such as, blue, green, and purple. While the silhouettes remained simple, Lidia Minota added her own extra touches here and there. For example, jewels and lace were added to some of the pieces to give them an extra flair.
