Lingerie Changing The World – Naja
Catalina Girald, founder of lingerie line Naja, was born in Colombia and moved to the United States when she was four years old. She received a law degree from Boston College, but later received a degree in business from Stanford, which helped her to start her business later on.
After backpacking through remote countries and meeting women from all backgrounds, Catalina Girald was then inspired to create her lingerie line to empower women and create a culture where they could help each other. Simply put, Girald believes her mission is to, “Change the world, one panty at a time.
In order to employ their message of helping women, Naja donates half of the proceeds to the Golondrinas Foundation in Colombia to support sewing programs for women. Girald partnered with them for an initiative called Underwear for Hope that teaches sewing and gives jobs to single mothers. These single mothers are the one’s that make all the products for the Naja brand.
As a consumer, you will love that each of their products is high quality. Each bra is made from memory foam, have ultrasonic straps, and even have prints and patterns in the interior of the bra. Additionally, underwear is made from Peruvian Pima cotton and lace is made from nylon because they’re gentler on your skin.
What is even better about the San Francisco based brand is that they believe you shouldn’t have to pay high prices for quality undergarments. Each of their bras retail for no more than $80 while the panties will cost you up to $30. To offset the cost even more, you can invite friends to shop at Naja by giving them $15 off their purchase. Once they redeem the offer, you’ll also receive $15 to put towards any of their products
