How we came to be…
Omtology is a yoga-inspired brand that creates mindfulness through handmade clothing and goods for those seeking a deeper yoga lifestyle practice. USA born and New York bred, Omtology was founded in 2013 in a small New York studio apartment by a yoga student/instructor who was struggling with yoga practice on and off-the-mat.
After much mind-chatter and years observing the lifestyle of yoga practitioners, it was realized that more yoga discipline could be accomplished with the things that attract our senses the most—what we wear and surround ourselves with everyday. From that day forward, Omtology’s focus has been to foster a yoga lifestyle practice by occupying closets, coffee tables, kitchens, bathrooms and other frequently inhabited personal space, with any and all things yoga-inspired.
Not just a name…
OM + Ontology: The name Omtology is a combination of the absolute yoga symbol “OM” and the philosophical study of nature and existence “Ontology.” The two words were yoked together to form Omtology which represents our fundamental idea that through symbolism and daily reminders, one can find their true nature.
